A common tactic. I suppose Admin put in ignores and bans to make a more peaceful site (and to make their own work easier since posters and moderators do unpaid work for them), but it has had the effect of dividing the site into warring camps that never talk to each other.

Yup, like so many other things they abuse to their advantage, the ignore feature is frequently just another tool used to "prove" you are bad. And since most conservatives don't play their silly deceptive games, their low ban/ignore count is "proof" they are good.
