Unfortunately, the system is broke and discourse from right and left have become so polarized....its become a gotcha game....it does not work to anyone's advantage...right, left or center....there is plenty of blame to go around too on both sides.... J.

I suspect that we are in agreement. Other than the ignores I input, as described before, I don't use the feature. In fact, I only implemented my personal code relatively recently. Before that, I had no ignores at all.

I objected to bans being included in the new system. For all the good it did. Should have included ignores. And it's not necessary to copy the whole PM. Admin can examine your PMs with your permission, so you can include part, tell what was said and who it was from and they can find it. The problem with bans is they segregate the site into enemy camps. Many people who post on left threads would never post here, banned or not. (Yourself excluded, obviously, and you are to be congratulated for this.) I'm sure the opposite is true too. As JLA said, politics has become so polarized that the two sides can no longer communicate. In the long run, either this is fixed or we face disaster of our own making.
