I'm guessing you've got one of the all the colors in one cartridge cartridges. I don't think there's any way around just buying the same replacement cartridge. I've checked and I can't find an all black ink replacement.

Cheapest thing to do might be to just buy some Lexmark cartridge black ink and try refilling it yourself..not sure how that would work unless all the color ink is used up before you refill with black?

Black Lexmark cartridges: amazon.com

But since you say it's a cheapy, you might be better off buying a cheap new printer - making sure it has separate cartridges for black and for color. Some cost no more than a cartridge amazon.com
