For now I would like to point out just one or two things that caught my eye as I made a quick glance. I try to look for objective scholarly treatments that demonstrate a cultural awareness, sensitivity, and insightfulness to those being critiqued as though the author could be speaking for them as much as about them and rather than simply against them. This one doesn't pass the muster as on the first line of the treatment, setting the tone, we see the most reactionary and alarming phrases... Hardly the type of treatment you would expect a Muslim child, or any Muslim to experience when being taught about Jihad...What Is Jihad? Muslim self-justification of suicide bombing lies in interpretation of jihad. Then further down I noticed an oft repeated phrase by Muslims: "la illah illah-llah" What any Muslim would say this means is very simply 'There is no God but God'. Do you see any similarity to this and Top ten on the charts: Thou shalt have none other gods before me. or Isaah 43:10 before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. Now lets look at your scholar's representation... There is little tolerance for idolaters within Islam: the first article of faith is the profession, la ilah illa-llah (there is no deity but God). Followed by a long treatment that would make any of us fearful of a dagger baring Muslim around every corner, under every table, and behind every bush ... lions and tigers and muslims OH MY... Anyone can demonize the doctrine of another person or group if that is their bent CobaltBlue. If that is yours, I really have no interest in it. For Example: Did you know that Jesus had gatherings where his followers were forced to ceremoniously drink the blood of a human being they worshipped and pretend to eat human flesh? Lions and Tigers and Apostles OH MY
