I think we are entangling more than one issue here. 1)When someone makes themselves a human bomb or engages a bomb that is targeting innocent people etc, those are horrific acts and all of us should try to gain an understanding of the circumstances that could bring such horror to our society. 2)In this case, looking to the religion of Islam for the answer has fallen short, time and time again. Even though it is true that the perps find justification in their religion to commit such acts, heinous criminals from all groups have done the same. A woman drowns her children because voices from god told her to etc. However the other billions of Muslims living today don't make themselves human bombs and the vast majority have condemned this type of behavior. I am sorry but there isn't time or the interest by American media to have all or even a few of those people on stage for the media. " ... then the members of that religion should condemn these acts and say that these acts were unjust and contrary to their religion." There have been plenty of spokespersons who have tried to make that point from the Muslim commundity and non-Muslim communities, including the president of the United States. However, Islam is a world wide religion with very diverse cultural representation and more members than the Catholic religion. One key difference, is the lack of a Paupacy or priesthood that speaks with authority on how all people may or may not interpret the religion, and act with respect of the Religion. So it is unlikely that you will get this kind of resolute authoritative condemnation, any more than you are likely to get a fish to say meow. Demanding it is as pointless as whining that you haven't heard it form the fishies. Muslim leaders are not priests or popes. Just like in other religions, there are educated scholarly Muslims and illiterate Muslims, there are saintly humble persons and out of control psychos. Some of them act purely out of loyalty to their geopolitical interests, some let personal conscience be their guide. 2) When someone attempts to explain what Muslims are like beginning with how the religion produces these psychos, we can almost be assured that they aren't going to do a good job of representing the billions that aren't psychos in their presentation. It would be like trying to explain the principles of Christianity starting with how Christianity guided Jeffery Dommer or Ted Bundy became to become so heinous. This is all I was trying to point out with reference to the sources you linked to. They started an explanation of what Muslims believe and what they are like, with a statement about suicide bombers, and hung their documentation below that ... get it?
