I'm way more energy efficient than you are NOW Itchy. You're just ignorant..

" Old cars from the period before the 1970's have little or no pollution control equipment and are exempt from emission inspections. Mile for mile, these cars are the worst polluters on the road -- in some cases 90 times dirtier per mile than a new vehicle. "

"..50% of all carbon monoxide emissions come from only 10% of the cars on the roads. Similarly, 14% of vehicles account for half the hydrocarbons leaving the tailpipe. A program which would eliminate these vehicles more quickly from the transportation system would significantly improve mobile source pollution levels."

But all selfish Itchy cares about is Itchy.

If you keep Dino going for the rest of your life, what would be the CO2 difference vs the production of a brand new car + its CO2 production? I haven't got a clue.
But you could replace the engine with an electric and fill up the truck with batteries, all by yers elf.
My sons and I have my unc's '53 Bel Aire. I play around with the ideer of approaching a company I've "owned" for a long time, and axing them how they would like to convert it to a hybrid for free as a demo at car shows. Maybe in a year or 2, when I have some time.
