Re: "I never said all surveys were done buy con men"

Correct. You didn't.

And, I *never* said that you had, either. [I said: <GGG> I wouldn't call the Sociologists at Baylor University "con men" (at least, not without some evidence they had tried to 'con' someone, somewhere...)]

What you said was this: "Too many people think that responding to surveys is a neat thing, when in many cases the information they provide will be used to dupe them in one way, or another. It's a lot like some pop ups on the computer where they ask for a user to vote on one thing, or another, which gives the party requesting this vote, is using it to make unwanted contact with the user, and in some cases steal his identity. They are like sharks in the water, and too many people are stupid enough to swim among them. I shouldn't care, but despise con men."

Which seemed peculiar enough. I really have no idea why you think suyveys 'will be used to dupe them', or where 'con men' come into it.

(Although, I AGREE that the most common purpose of polling public opinion is financial. I.e., marketers what to learn how to better SELL to you, or politicians want to lean how to get elected, etc.)
