Bush-Cheney were also deceitful. They never for one moment planned to use Iraqi oil to pay the US back for its war costs. The only beneficiaries were corporate cronies like Halliburton. Yet Bushies had numerous major rightwing pundits going out promising the people Iraqi oil money, including Sean Hannity whom I heard reassure a worried caller than "don't worry, Iraqi oil will pay for everything".

Since we now also know that the White House was told there were no WMD's six months before the election, this makes one wonder why they really invaded. Just for those oilfields which would be controlled (and are being controlled now) by their corporate cronies? Or was it something else?
