Niek, you very much underestimate the sheer design rule
complexities and the underlying toolset construction physics involved
to faithfully reproduce deep submicron lithography.
It could be that this antenna focusing technique might
someday become a manufacturable alternative to current optical
techniques, but it won't be a simple matter of just
plugging in a simple component to existing lithography tool
sets and starting production. All new
technologies come with a completely new set of problems and
engineering issues that need to be addressed and resolved
before they become reliable working toolsets. I reference
e-beam, x-ray, and deep UV lithography as examples of promising
lithography techniques that have been in development for
over 20 years but still have not addressed all the engineering
hurdles to become viable production toolsets. BB
