"Isn't that what Mohammad was calling Jesus in his writings?

No. The writings of the Quran and the sayings of Mohammad match what many sects of Christianity teach about Jesus even today. There are whole treatments in the Quran that validate immaculate conception, the miracles of Jesus, the saintly character of Mary etc.

Sects of Christianity disagree with each other far more than Mohammad ever differed with Christianity as a community and Mohammad never said anything bad about Jesus, quite the opposite. The regional Church near Mohammad's home gave him and his followers sanctuary and considered their beliefs very acceptable over all. The high religious authority of the Christians said about Mohammad, "the difference between us is as one hair in the entire universe."

The one Criticism you will see of Christianity by Islam is that the Christians (not Jesus) tend toward exaggeration regarding what is from God vs what they just get excited about and attribute to God.. The criticism is that this is a form of heresy since human beings should not on their own be editing (changing, taking out stuff they don't like, slipping in extra stuff etc) Gods message, even through their excitement or love for his messenger.
