I'd say that if Pakistan and India come back to the table because of Havana, then Havana was good for the world. Tensions between Pakistan and India threaten us all, and if those tensions are reduced we all benefit. I don't know about the rest of the Western world- because it's not monolithic, and I don't sample papers from every country, but I know that the administration in this country tends to be WAY too black and white in their thinking about what benefits America. The world is a big complicated picture, not a tiny Rorschach inkblot that we immediately have to label as "good", or "bad".

JMO, of course.
