syl, I somewhat agree with what you are saying. I can see why one would call it "greed and oil" except I dont think it is conscious greed. I think it is the persona of USA as the most dominant entity in the world. The US will exert its will in favor of its own interest. Usually its under the 'theory' that unfettered capitalism will enhance everyone's lives. The US comes across too often as its 'our way' or 'no way' If anything, the tensions and difficulties are a result of unbalance in the world, made more dangerous by the fall of USSR. (which we (USA) put out of business.
