I am on a slipper slope here and its about time for
me to eagerly post something really stupid, OK?

The dollar is a currency. And I think gold is a currency.

How I view them should be whatever measure I choose
against 'other currencies'.

e.g. how is the dollar doing against the euro ....

by comparing the dollar vs the S&P 500 I get in a situation
where I don't have the wisdom to know if the S&P 500
serves as a good *proxy* for other currencies .....

like I said at the beginning ... I ususally write something
stupid at least once a day ....

and maybe this post is it .....

can comparing the dollar to the S&P 500 be useful in
the determination of how strong the dollar is versus
other currencies?

regards,
John
