You just told a Liddy-type you needed the information without telling him to torture, he got it using whatever means necessary. part of the deal was the Liddy-type would hold his mud and go to jail if caught - just like the "disavow any actions" at the end of the taped instructions in Mission Impossible. en.wikipedia.org Bush is such an idiot, he want to be able to explicitly ORDER people to torture. He doesn't have the skills necessary to deal with these things the traditional way.
