As for the UN, the invasion was never sanctioned and Anan described it as illegal. Have committed this illegal invasion, the UN then has a role reminding the US of its obligations as an army of occupation -- chief among them is them establishing law and order and the basic services of civil society. The US has failed to live up to these obligations.

Shouldn't that be the People of Iraq? The Sunni and the Kurds may not be pleased with an all Shi'ite all the time program.

I am not the issue -- the issue is what the Shia in Iraq will prefer

You obviously think you are the judge of what the people, not merely the Shia people, of Iraq want. However, they have elected their own gov't which sees things very differently from you. You are simply pretending that your pathological hatred of America is shared by all Iraqis.

As for the UN, the invasion was never sanctioned

That's long been irrelevant.

Have committed this illegal invasion, the UN then has a role reminding the US of its obligations as an army of occupation

Actually the period that could be characterized as occupation has now ended. We're now providing military assistance to an allied gov't.

-- chief among them is them establishing law and order and the basic services of civil society. The US has failed to live up to these obligations.

That was the job of the US, but now the job of the Iraqi gov't. They, like the US-led coalition before them, are doing their best despite the efforts of the Baathists and terrorists you are rooting for.
