(For, one can't learn anything about the target population... can't "know" anything, to use your word... if the sampling is FLAWED and BIASED! It would invalidate the results. You would be basing future strategies upon mere fantasies.) If you want to 'push buttons' (as ADVERTISERS and POLITICIANS certainly do!)... then you have to have at least a fair understanding of the reality of beliefs and views that are OUT THERE NOW, before you can have any chance at all of mounting an effective campaign to CHANGE views. :-)
