Iraq is a very large part of how F-ed up things are in general. Many other problems - budget deficits, trade deficits, cuts in funding for key social programs, schools etc., the loss of credibility of US in the world, the lack of attention to homeland security, are all caused by, or exacerbated by, Iraq. It is the height of idiocy to believe that it isn't.
