And the companies that had seismic chart recorders in the area. Of course none of those actually pickup up this mysterious explosion that happened 12 seconds before the planes hit.

So the conspiracy nuts had to create an internet fable out of some seismic charts of the collapses and spread the rumor that there was an explosion before the planes hit. Never mind that the charts only show the collapse and nothing before hand. All they have to do is tell the lie and tell it often enough for it to become accepted (by the conspiracy nut followers) as fact.

A likely explanation for taking out the core columns' support at bedrock level before the planes struck was to leverage the affect of impact high above to add weakness making the demolition more complete in the end result.

I think the timing of basement explosions was not a miscalculation.

Perhaps they were trying to mask the first explosion with impact of the planes.

Why would they risk such a complicated plot when any simple attack could have been spun into a reason to invade Iraq?
