Send a large enough force to Afghanistan to ensure that Pakistan and Musharraf don't fish in the troubled waters.

What "fishing in troubled waters" has Musharraf done?

How large of force would you have sent?

Would you have put a massive force in the mountains along the border? Kindof hard to supply an army in that situation. Also you would have been more likely to be seen as an occupier and have to deal with a general Afghani uprising rather than just having to fight the Taliban and Al Qaida. Move across to Pakistan and you have even more problems.

As for Iraq being a better target it was a better target than Pakistan, not Afghanistan.
