Oh really?

The truth is that Bush, in his eagerness to go to war in Iraq,
put Afghanistan in the backburner. He withdrew some troops from there and reassigned them to fight in Iraq.

It was Bush's negligence (or unfounded optimism) in Afghanistan that has enabled the Taliban to regroup and make a resurgence!

We've been fairly active in Afghanistan the whole time.

"Fairly active" doing what? Growing opium?! In case you don't know, Afghanistan has had bumper crop after bumper crop after the Taliban was removed from power.

Other than saving Karzai's butt, we haven't been doing much of anything else. In the meantime, Taliban are regrouping and we have even seen our ally, dictator Musharraf seal a deal with the Taliban, and we are powerless to do anything about that.
