Don't hold me to this, but I believe that's broadcast channels and maybe just the major networks. From my cable company, you are limited to a couple of dozen channels (including the networks). Even there, not everything was shot in HD... but somehow being broadcast in HD gives you a superior picture than standard TV. You would think that the advertisers would be salivating to advertise on the independent HD channels... first their ads look great and second it must be a great demographic of early adapters with disposable income.

I read somewhere that HD had a 97% satisfaction rating in a survey.

On the face imperfections... it's REALLY obvious when they do the soft focus stuff on HD.
