Just heard the tail end of a CNBC report on Dell that stated something to the effect that Dell's suppliers are saying it's PC sales are trending below expectations and that a negative preannouncement might be in the cards. Did not catch who made the call, but was wondering why Dell was trading down in a strong market this morning.

ThinkEquity on Dell today:

While in Asia, we have heard from several members of the PC supply chain that Dell's (DELL) PC units and profitability are declining rapidly below expectations. We believe it may be possible that DELL will preannounce negatively again, likely in mid-October. We also believe Intel (NASDAQ: INTC, $19.42) will effectively remove its marketing subsidies to Dell. We continue to believe that Dell represents the best short play in our Universe. We reiterate our Sell rating and lower our price target from $18 to $17.
