I got to thinking about that yesterday during my colloquy with Zeta. There have been fourteen posts in that particular sequence. Fourteen posts and I'm still not sure what she wanted from me given that the question she finally framed had nothing much to do with the post of mine that started it and given that we might not be done yet. I was thinking about that because I had occasion the other day to notice that I am the third most prolific poster on this thread, which is just amazing. Much of that is the back and forth of trying to either explain a misunderstood point repeatedly often to multiple people or fishing to find the focus of a question, not in any substantive communication.

Yes, endless loops are quite the phenomenon. Fortunately, IEFBR14 isn't endless, in practice. The operating system shuts it down just as soon as it figures out that the program is not going anywhere, which is pretty quickly. There's a learning opportunity in that.
