If the Bushies gave more time t the i nspectors, they knew very well that the inspectors would find nothing. Instead, the Bushies thought that WMDs or no WMDs, the Iraqis wouldn't care about that issues and welcome the US anyway and that the world would forget about the WMDs in the midst of the "anticpated" Iraqi jubilation.

However, things did not go planned and Bush was left with having to defend his own idiocy. No "Mission Accomplished", no "Osama or Ayman" no "Mullah Omar"

Instead of shooting down these leading terrorists, Cheney was busy shooting at his own hunting buddies.

The bottom line is that the inspections had not been allowed the level of access needed to come to a very solid conclusion.
