Good lord, the UN sign was huge -- if I can see it clear as day on TV it is hard to imagine it not being visible to those doing the bombing. The sign must have been at least ten feet high and painted in huge black letters. But lets say that in broad daylight the Israel's could not see it -- the UN made repeated calls all day long -- nine calls were reported -- calls to Israel saying don't bomb that building because the only people in it are UN observers. Then -- after all those calls, in broad daylight with the cameras rolling, they sent in a bombing run and reduced the building to a smoldering pile of rubble, killing the UN observers. Collateral damage? To refuse to investigate this deliberate atrocity is unforgivable in my view. Opposing an inquiry is tantamount to giving Israel a blank check. It is time we tore up that blank check and held Israel accountable for the use of our money and our weapons to commit this sort of atrocity.
