You can't provide perspective if you don't understand the issues being discussed. I don't have to have profound understanding of the issues to identify logic falacies, communication disconnects, biases, and the like. I wasn't arguing the substance of the issue with you. I wouldn't presume to. I commented on your charge of bias against an author.
