"It seems rather more doubtful every day to me..."

Maybe we need new leadership....even Republican leadership....but new leadership.

Re: "It seems rather more doubtful every day to me..."

Why is that?

Perhaps you are unduely depressed about the odds for our long-term strategic success (which, I assure you, are still *heavily* in our favor) simply because you are being influenced by the *short-term* results you are seeing day-to-day from our present --- rather lame and 'brain-dead' I'd say --- set of inconsistent and internally contradictory 'strategies'.

Switching to more *logical*, rational strategies (that play to our strengths, and the realities of the Middle Eastern and South Asian regions) is all that it will take to put us firmly on the path toward strategic success.

Not 'too late', nor too difficult.

THEN your mood can brighten.

(I'd venture that BOTH the Cold War conflict with Communism and the WW II conflict with Fascism were *far* more dangerous threats... both of which were overcome.)
