What puts would you buy to hedge juniors ?

(Talking about puts, my favourite miner purchased 280,000 ounces of $600 puts as a hedge (for its future mine) when the gold market was high in June. Do you think the value of these puts should be on its balance sheet ?)

No, never. That's what you do, isn't it?

I admit that I get whipsawed sometimes, but I developed my trading skills during the Tech bull (and subsequent bust), so I stick with what works. Besides, one thing I also learned back then was that great stories don't always lead to great profits.

Doesn't hedging like that basically mitigate the upside potential? I'm after "the big score" (another leftover habit, LOL) so don't mind taking small losses.

It's a jungle out there. More than one way to stalk the wily beast. I like hunting with you, and do have a few in the PF I'm sticking with. Like ORM. But, since I don't write a newsletter or get commissions, I can't afford to be too wrong too often.

"Perform or else."
