I am vegetarian who believes in the sacredness of all life(close to buddhist beliefs), Totally of topic..... There is in Niagara Falls Ontario a big honkin Buddha over 20 feet tall. He is rather plump and smiling. He is enclosed now however and harder to see. It was much nicer when you saw him as you drove up. I brought a busload of Japanese Jehovah's witnesses to Niagara Falls to show them the sights as part of their tour of North American JW sites. We stopped in front of Buddha, and I said "Look, Canada sent Jehovah's Witnesses to Japan. So Japan sent Buddha to Canada..... They laughed and the Canadian JW's on board just about lost it. They have a wonderful view of religion, far more spiritual and far less restrictive....... I have a buddha in my yard. his back faces the neighbour who gives me a lot of problems. I often go out to meditate and cool off when they have done something particularly irrational.
