I'm still puzzled why so many Republican/Conservatives are not up in arms over the sheer incompetence of the Administration's handling of the war on terror. It's one thing to say there is a problem out there. It is quite another to say that the problem has been handled competently.

Let's assume for the sake of discussion that we all agree that there is a real danger out there..and it wants to destroy our way of life. Let's also agree that since September 12, 2001 our leadership has had a generally free hand in determining its targets, strategies, tactics and course of action. Other than the months of debate before the invasion of Iraq, this has been true....there was little or no objection to the measures taken, from moving into Afghanistan to creating a massive new domestic department called Homeland Security. Money flowed like water and no one seemed concerned about how or where it was spent, or how to repay the borrowing that produced it.

Why are the republicans not furious over a Secretary of Defense who has been wrong of virtually every estimate on need for force, time frame involved, use of resource, etc.? Why are the Republicans not furious over a rebuilding program in Iraq that was so incompetent that it put a 24 year old with no experience in finance in charge of the Baghdad stock exchange? (among hundreds of other such examples).

Let's all assume what had to be done on a global strategic level was done.....did it have to be done so poorly? So incompetently? So seemingly cluelessly?

And why, if a person challenges the incompetence, is he or she branded unpatriotic? Doesn't quality count? Doesn't capability count? And, ultimately, doesn't performance have to be graded and responsibility taken for it?

The republican/conservatives should be the angriest of all for the squandering of what some could have claimed to be a noble cause by sheer incompetence of execution...

Don't be discouraged...change the leadership and make someone, anyone, accountable for results.
