Thoughts? No...as soon as I see gold slip below $575 my brain goes in to Deep Hibernation Mode as a self-protective mechanism, ha ha. Ugh. As for enforcement of margin rules...I'm not sure what the rules are for hedge funds. I know that they are not subject to the same sorts of limitations as are retail investors, so they are still able to get themselves in quite a bit of trouble fairly easily (as we just witnessed). Not sure if the SEC did anything really meaningful in the wake of Long Term Capital Management to insure that one of these funds don't end up taking down a good chunk of the system upon implosion. I guess we will find out, at some point.
