Here is what I said and we've had a couple of exchanges over it.

"There must be no coercion in matters of faith!" (2: 256) There are no exceptions.

It seems very simple. I believe it. You can't force someone to believe something they don't. It should be common sense that it is humanly impossible. So on the one hand it is a matter of fact statement. But, as a religious statement, it is also a directive not to try it. That makes sense too because if it is not humanly impossible, then it would be 1)pointless to try, and 2)Corrupt and hurtful to those who you coerce.

The nearest thing to 'trying' is forcing someone to say they believe something that they don't. That is not the religion it is a corruption of religion. It is using religion to hurt people. And there are people that do that.

I still don't know what your comment was about.
