Something must have fallen in that area of the building, or dust migrated from an area that was collapsing. The pressure from the collapse pushed some dust out a window.

Not sure yet, that's an open question in my mind. I did see a picture of a piece of metal that looked melted, but it was only the size of a quarter. When you build a steel building, you use a cutting torch and lots of pieces similar to the one in the picture are left behind, in columns, or other pockets of the structure.
