yeh - that's what I think too. it's just a codec-to-video converter(wireless).
But a very Complete one, perhaps adjusting the resolutions to fit the TV set at hand. All the files are in the computer.

A separate TV tuner (eg- eyeTV or somesuch) is connected NOT to iTV, but to the computer, which gives you the Tivo property for incoming content from cable, etc., not the iTV ...
