One might think you are of the opinion that SGI's financial performance is in any way tied to their technology choices. How dare you! ;) _____________________ Actually no. But I could easily do that. It's just about Opterons superior scaling in HPC's, and the co-processor option. What this indicates to me is the bank that lent them the money for this restart isn't very good at evaluating technology. Many believe that Intel is giving the Woody away for nothing, and even if that is so, it's a bad deal for SGI. Money spent on the rest of the hardware will be wasted when saddled up to a memory constrained single processor masquerading as a candidate for MPC's in the HPC space.
