You appear to put that statistic above all others. I don't see why it should be considered more accurate or more important than the data for personal income, personal disposable income, or employee compensation.

p.s. Tim you are utterly wrong to dismiss the Sentiment Survey.

I didn't say it was wrong, or even worthless. I said it wasn't relevant to the question at hand. It might be the basis for some other discussion.

Personally, I don't find the use in torturing these arguments out to the nth degree of contortions one way or another. I know how the electorate feels about the economy the last five years, which suffices for my purposes.

Most authors who seek to prove an alternative view is correct are basically telling people they are wrong and stupid. That rarely works in politics.
