Oh, I agree completely!

And, as I've stated here several times, so-called 'push-polls' (FAKE polls, not honest attempts at sampling attitudes/opinions of the target population), which are utilized to INFLUENCE opinions, not measure them... are not real 'polls' at all, they are propaganda.

So I naturally am not intending 'push-polls' whenever I refer to scientific polling.

However, the instance that you've just posted, Pompsander, seems to be an example of a different sort of FRAUD entirely.

Looks like the bogus 'pollster' here (Viewpoint USA) was not running a slimy push-poll as an adjunct to some politician's campaign efforts... it looks like he was just FAKING RESULTS that he gave to his CLIENT (so he could get paid I suppose. :-)

(Generally considered a BAD TACTIC to lie to your customer! Tends to reduce repeat business!)

But, as I've *also* pointed out here before... business would not SPEND the BILLIONS that they do on market research each year, (nor the politicians spend the millions upon millions that they do to measure public opinions), unless they believed that they were receiving value for their spend.

Clearly Viewpoint will be going out of business... but the business of market research itself will not be reduced by even one thin dime.
