Apple computers now at Circuit City. They have the macbooks but no desktops yet.

Also, for my zipcode the macbooks are all out of stock so it seems like this is like Best Buy, where the macbooks are available online but not in stores yet.

i'm not an expert on this stuff of course, but I'm imagining that the H.264 codec is 'scalable' - it can convert to any video quality upto HDTV & down to ipod video. Sophisticated software is needed. I remember at MacWorld jan-2006 there was some buzz about this. I'm guessing that software is being developed to convert video(from a tuner say) to H.264 and from H.264 to video, with file save dall in the mac and its hard drives.
