If Israel really has 400+ nukes, they could take out the entire ME couldn't it? Along with itself of course otherwise it would be a radioactive little island of sand. So, the idea is, if Israel the rogue nuclear state, joins the NPT and declares its nukes then it will lead to an arms race in the ME. Gee. Isn't this the entire point? IT IS AN ARMS RACE with Israel in the lead. The moral point becomes totally absurd when one side becomes armed and the other side is told it can't be. After Lebanon and the Neocons decimation of Iraq, does anyone really believe that the rightwing government of Israel wouldn't strike first and destroy entire countries. After all, it believes in preemption. In the meantime, where the heck are those soldiers? fas.org
