re: We are at war with the Taliban in Afghanistan, with the insurgency in Iraq, and with Al Qaeda.

You could argue that NATO is at war with the Taliban... shouldn't we turn those prisoners over to NATO?

In Iraq, I thought al Qaeda was the resistance? The Sunni / Shia are mostly torturing and killing each other. Are they the insurgency?

Frankly, it doesn't look like much of a war to me... sort of an occupation gone to hell. Were any of the Gitmo "enemy combatants" captured in Iraq?

We aren't just in a "war on terrorism" in the sense that we are in a "war on drugs". We are at war with the Taliban in Afghanistan, with the insurgency in Iraq, and with Al Qaeda. If those wars end, and we have nothing to charge the enemy combatants with, than the enemy combatants should be released.

Why would the neos want the 'war' to end? It works for them on so many different levels.
