re: I think some may have been but I'm far from being sure. If the answer is that none have, than you could argue that the war in Iraq is not relevant to releasing the prisoners. But if we are still at war in Afghanistan than the existence of the war in Iraq isn't needed to justify holding the prisoners. Also if they are Al Qaida and we are fighting Al Qaida in Iraq than it really doesn't matter where they where captured, as long as we are still at war with the organization.

Lot of nuance there. How many in Gitmo are al Qaeda? Whoops, we don't know, do we? So we can just hold whoever we think might be al Qaeda.

Hell, lets face it, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan let us capture, export and hold anyone we want, from anywhere, for as long as there is ever a "terrorist threat".

We are the worlds only super power, it's our birthright, eh?
