It can't happen and didn't. Thermite can't do it, dynamite can't do it, extreme heat can't do it. Nothing can cause steel to vaporize.

It fell. It fell and left behind a cloud of dust in the air. It fell straight down and it fell fast. All that is left is a bunch of dust that had fallen on the steel during the collapse.

I am 100% sure that this is what you are seeing. You do know that nothing known to man can vaporize steel in less than 2 seconds, right?
