I think the biggest problem that Technical Analysts have -- is that they fold to the pressure of their subscribers and clients. Sinclair (he of the French Curve Fatwahs ) continually admonishes his followers to sell 1/3rd into strength... but, yet has NEVER...EVER issued a call to take profits and sell that 1/3rd into a rally...because he's never seen a rally that isn't going higher. After all -- "the magnets" are pulling Gold to $1682... Chan has a subscription service and as he noted publically; he took a hit from his subscribers when he turned negative. Hell, he even got death threats. Earth to anyone selling a service, or a newsletter:People do not want to hear the truth... hell, they can't take it AFTER the fact, let alone BEFORE the fact (vbg)! This call surprised me... it came after he turned negative and took hits from his subscribers. It didn't turn out too well for him, or his subscribers... I have no idea what he thought he saw (other than his subscribers cancelling)? ===========================================================================================goldeditor.com Jack Chan: Simple trades in the gold sector Posted on September 5, 2006Simple trades in the gold sector By Jack Chan at www.simplyprofits.org 9/02/2006 Our breakout model finally confirmed the much anticipated BO#4 a few days ago, and alerted us to be aggressive buyers of the gold sector. Summary Prices in both ETFs are now approaching resistance. If the breakout model is correct, the resistance should not be a problem as prices should exceed it and challenge the May high in the next few weeks. Risk/reward on these two trades are very attractive, as we are risking 2% for a potential 20% return if the May highs are reached, and more if they are exceeded. Here's how Chan's call panned out:Confucious say: there are no "simple" trades in the gold sector =============================================================================================Cash aint looking like Trash -- now is it? SOTB PS: Bonds haven't been doing too bad either. Throw in a few snorts & shorts -- and life is good on the dark side. ciao`
