We have been discussing anti ballistic missile defenses and technology for protecting individual vehicles from RPGs and such. One of my comments was let us develop technology with a high success rate and see who wants to be our ally. China will protect her interests. We allow our morons and extremist dissidents too much voice in the public forum. Foreigners pick up on those voices and amplify them for their own purposes. People like Chavez are all over this country. He has been very successful at the third world's preferred method of democracy; one person, one vote, once. It is unlikely that the country will revert to populist rule any time in our lives without a bloody uprising by the people He has managed to install power hungry allies in the upper ranks of the military. Perhaps they pose a risk to him, but that won't help citizens.
