If you tell a kid not to waste his time in college you are telling him he should aim for a career in the exciting world of flipping burgers.

Sorry. I have interviewed too many kids who had no business going to college but went anyway, got a Psych degree, or something similar, and are now working as retail clerks.

Yes but they go and get a degree in Sociology and run up 40K in school loans only to end up flipping the burgers anyhow.

Depends on the kid. I know people who are very well off that didn't finish high school. Learn a trade and if you're good at it you can get well off. Brick layer, plumber, auto body repair ... Get good enough and start your own company.
