When he disgraced himself with the public finger wagging episode, I expected him to recover some honor with an immediate apology and stepping down from office. I figured he could then continue to be a charismatic champion of liberal causes and fence mender as he had been in his earlier career. I was very disappointed to see what actually followed that episode. I don't blame either side of the L/R for it, and maybe there is enough of the universe between those events and now for him to have a second life in the public. He is very skillful but he needs to engage these causes in a way that personal trust in him is not a factor in their success. His humanitarian work with Bush Sr on flood relief was a good start.
