>>>TI's new quarterly dividend rate will be $0.04 per quarter<<<

No matter how you measure it...this is a very skimpy dividend. At .04 cents per quarter...its unlikely that could be considered sufficient to keep long term investors from selling their shares.

Since many tech companies are small banks with their cash hoards, they should reward the shareholders in a better fashion then they have in the past. A $.04 dividend is almost a joke if not an insult when compared to the excessive compensation paid to the executives.

Any executive that threatens to leave, (because of compensation )should be told to freshen up his/her resume and shown the door. Unemployment is a dose of reality that many of these overpriced prima donas deserve.

All this news of chip companies repurchasing their own shares or even going private is very bullish for the long term.
