I'm assuming that by the time you see a mass in a scan it's too late for this test - you are going to biopsy the tumor no matter what the test says.

The role of the test surely has to be earlier, in deciding whether to do a scan or not to begin with.

These sensitivity/specificity numbers aren't good enough so that you could use this in general screening. The question remains whether they could identify a subgroup of the general population where the test would be useful - has to be some group where there is a moderate index of suspicion - if there is a high index you are going to proceed to a scan anyhow and then biopsy if there is continued suspicion after the scan.
