Peter, Steve spent almost every Australian dollar he earned to buy thousands of acres of land that had been nearly destroyed, and nurtured it back to how nature needed it to be.In one case, he bought 2,000 acres that had all of the gum trees cut down, and planted 5,000 new trees, which has become a home for many koalas.

Bob, Steve's Dad, has moved back from the bush to help Terri continue the success of Australian Zoo. The other people that have joined the zoo as handlers are all dedicated to wild life, so it should continue for, at least, decades. Then the fire ball Bindi, who is just like her Dad, will be ready to take over. Steve put that passion into her as she has grown.
