There are no unions for healthcare workers down here and salaries have never been great as a result. Her friend in Calif. graduating from the same college with the same experience makes over 100k. On top of that we have a tremendous shortage of nurses down here and I quoted her salary, in reality she and the rest make it up in overtime but they work their behinds off to get it. Before I retired I paid my SECRETARY right out of a 2 year secretarial school MORE then my wife made who then had over 15 years experience with a 5 year degree. jdn

At our clinic (Physical therapy) malpractice insurance has gone up about 400% in the last couple of years...

It is still lucrative though for insurance companies the head of United Healthcare made with stock options over 1 billion last year... And they wont pay us crap...
